Tortang Giniling is a simple Filipino recipe typically served during breakfast or lunch. Tortang Giniling as described below is the traditional way to cook this recipe. You can however add other ingrediënts like vegetables. If your children don't like vegetables you can add them without them having a clue!
1 large red onion (minced finely)
450 grams ground pork
3 cloves garlic (pounded finely)
1 big potato, skinned and chopped in cubes
2 tablespoons of soy sauce
1 tablespoon black pepper (ground)
6 pieces of egg (beaten)
Oil for cooking
Saute the garlic until it is medium brown
Add the finely minced onion
Add the potatoe.
Add the ground pork after the potatoes are half cooked.
Add some salt and pepper to taste
Cook until the pink of the meat if gone and the pork is tender.
Place the mixture aside and let it cool down.
Add the the beaten eggs to the ground pork mixture and mix all ingredients together.
Pour the mixture into a frying pan and fry it until the color of the egg is golden brown on both sides.
The Tortang Giniling is done and should be served warm with rice
