Recipe type: Breakfast
Tapsilog or in other (tagalog) words: Tapa which means fried strips of beef, sinangag which is fried rice and itlog which means egg. Tapsitlog isn't only served at home during breakfast but can also be ordered at famous food chains in the Philippines.
  • three cups of fried rice
  • three fried eggs, sunny side up
  • 500 grams of beef
  • two tablespoons of sugar
  • two tablespoons of finely grated garlic
  • one thinly sliced onion
  • two tablespoons of cooking oil
  • one tablespoon of salt
  • one tablespoon of black pepper (grounded)
  • one tablespoon of oyster sauce
  • one tablespoon of light soy sauce
  1. Slice the beef into small strips
  2. place the sliced beef pieces aside.
  3. Mix the oyster sauce, soy sauce, sugar and garlic, salt, black pepper in a bowl.
  4. Place the sliced strips of beef together with the mixed ingredients into a transparent plastic bag Mix the ingredients and the beef well and place it into the refrigerator for approximately 20 hours.
  5. Put two cups of water into a cooking pan and place the marinated tapa in the pan and let it boil until the water evaporates so the beef will be tender.
  6. After the water is evaporated, add about two or two and a half tablespoon of oil in a non-stick frying pan.
  7. Spread the marinated tapa slices of over the entire bottom of the pan for even cooking and fry until it’s almost done.
  8. Add some ontion slices, stir, cook for another one minute and turn off the heat.
  9. Place the tapa on a plate with fried rice and egg.
  10. Enjoy your Tapsilog!
