Beef Caldereta is one of my favorite traditional filipino recipes. Beef Calderera is very popular around the Luzon area in the Philippines. This Filipino Recipe is often served during special occasions, parties or festivals.
1kg Beef (Cubed)
three cloves Garlic (Crushed)
two pieces Red Potatoes (Diced)
one piece Red bell pepper (Cubed)
one Large Carrot (Diced)
one piece Red Onion (Chopped)
one cup Tomato Sauce
four tablespoons Olive Oil
four cups Water
one cup liver paste
two Large Bay Leaves
one tablespoon Salt
one tablespoon Black pepper
Heat the cooking oil in the pan at medium heat and saute the garlic and onion.
Add the beef and let it cook until the beef turns brown
Add the four cups of water and let it boil until the beef is tender (this can take up to 1,5 to 2 hours)
Add the diced carrots and potatoes until they are soft.
Add the tomato sauce and the liver past.
simmer the mixture for another 10 minutes
Add all the left ingredients and let is simmer for another 5 minutes.
Finally add salt and pepper to taste and the beef caldereta is ready to be served.
